AR or Alkali Resistant Chopped Strand Fibres are a key element in the production of GFRC / GRC. The addition of AR Fibres will assist with crack control as well as adding strength and flexibility to your project, without the side effect of added weight.
The high integrity of our AR Chopped Strand Fibres make them suitable in a variety of production methods including hand pressing, spraying and pouring.
Alkali Resistance is essential for any fibres being used for GFRC production, due to the high alkalinity levels in cement. The alkali resistance of glass fibres depends on the levels of Zirconia in the glass. Our AR glass fibres have minimum Zirconia content of 17%, the highest of any commercially available glass fibre.
These fibres are stiffer than our best selling fibre, although some customers do prefer the stiffer fibre based on the application process.
